Protesters, however, were waiting for her when she arrived at a San Francisco building on a Saturday afternoon. They were dog trainers in many of their numbers. They contend that The Dog Daddy, known by his real life name Deoliveira, is mistreating animals.

“For me, there is a difference of opinion but, why not if it would help my dog?”, Zulueta asked.

Dog Daddy has more than ten million followers. Critics accuse him of using force and pain to inflict pain and only get temporary compliance.

“Unfortunately, they are the victims of an unregulated industry, and what they try next for their dog could actually make the dog worse,” Christina Cambie, dog trainer and behavior consultant.

Dog training is unregulated. Unlicensed, therefore unsupervised.

A dog trainer and behavior consultant Ren Volpe asked, “Is this how you want to treat your dog? Would you use these methods on a child to make them obey?”

KPIX was barred from entry into the training session. The Dog Daddy worked with about 30 owners and an attendee provided a video Saturday’s session to prove.

Dog owners claimed they had spent between $100 and $400 to attend. It was their last hope as most people said so.

Owner Paula Kotzen said, “(My dog Sophia has) already bitten another dog or two in the neighborhood, and I don’t want it to escalate where she might hurt a human, and the ultimate may happen: euthanasia”.

Kotzen said that she supports The Dog Daddy and his technique because it can assist her dog.

“There is a lot of misconception about what I do because when you reach millions of people, daily there is a lot of different opinion that gets born,” Deoliveira said to KPIX.

Deoliveira organizes one day workshops in the country. He stated that he has years working with dogs. He stated that, in every session, he gives the dog owners methods that they can utilize at home for achieving lasting behavior changes. Don’t forget to visit the latest news at The Best Dog House.

Deoliveira explained that people who don’t understand that the type of dogs that come to him are extremely uncontrollable and that they have tried everything else, come to a conclusion that I am abusing dogs.
